Mr. Shifflett has over 10 years of experience in the environmental field, primarily in property transfers, property development, and litigation support on sites with impacted soil and groundwater. Mr. Shifflett has project experience in Phase I environmental audits, Phase II soil and groundwater investigations, site remediation, regulatory agency negotiation for site closure, determination of remediation volumes and cost estimates. Mr. Shifflett’s experience ranges from limited soil investigations of small properties to soil and groundwater assessment of large oilfield properties over 1,000 acres in size with offsite migration of contaminants, design and implementation of site remediation, including agency negotiation for determination of cleanup levels. At Waterstone, Mr. Shifflett is responsible for the management of projects including the remedial investigation and site closure of soil and groundwater contaminants associated with oil fields, industrial manufacturing sites, and commercial properties, including those with underground storage tanks, and a variety of other sites where hazardous materials were known to be a part of historical operations. Mr. Shifflett employs a closure-based approach to his projects, having received “No Further Action” decisions for large oilfield sites for residential and commercial development, UST sites following remediation of soil and groundwater or by evaluation of natural attenuation parameters, and numerous other properties.
